Southern Cross has been arranging support people in their communities throughout NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and ACT since 1984. We arrange the provision of an extensive range of aged support and disability services for people in their private home and community.

Southern Cross is seeking motivated, caring and committed individuals as Support Workers to deliver support services in the community to provide assistance to people living in their own homes.

This support enables the person to maintain a level of independence by providing a service that will assist them to complete everyday tasks.

Support Workers will receive support to achieve the skills required to deliver individualised support to people with disabilities living in the community.

Duties

Duties may vary depending on the Participant's needs, but may include:

  • Assistance with Personal care tasks
  • Use of Mobility equipment – e.g. hoist, wheelchair, shower chair, walker
  • Domestic tasks - e.g. vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, dusting
  • Meal preparation
  • Community participation – e.g. medical appointments, shopping and/or social outings 

Service delivery times

There are a variety of hours to choose from to best suit your availability, you can nominate these during the on-line application process.

  • Short shifts available Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm

As part of the engagement process, all successful applicants must receive a National Criminal History Clearance and need to obtain a Working with Children Clearance to commence working as a Support Worker.
