About the opportunity

Southern Cross is seeking a motivated, caring and committed individual as a Disability Support Worker to deliver support services to a gentleman with multiple sclerosis living with his wife in their own home.

This support will enable the gentleman to maintain a level of independence by providing a service that will assist him to complete everyday tasks.

The successful Support Worker will receive support to achieve the skills required to deliver individualised support to people with disabilities living in the community.

Duties may vary depending on the Participant's needs, but may include:

  • Assistance with Personal care tasks
  • Medication administration
  • Assistance with Therapy tasks
  • Use of Mobility equipment – e.g. hoist, wheelchair, shower chair
  • Light Domestic assistance
  • Meal preparation 

Service delivery times

  • Wednesday and Thursday 8am to 4pm

Requirements

  • experience in community care
  • current references
  • mobile phone
  • current drivers licence and reliable vehicle

As part of the engagement process, all successful applicants must receive a National Criminal History Clearance and need to obtain a Working with Children Clearance to commence working as a Support Worker.
